Last week we noted that bypassing a strait does not guarantee a delivery. From 19 to 25 September, the bypass itself became the front line. The Houthis targeted Riyadh and claimed strikes on Aramco facilities in Yanbu, the Red Sea terminal through which Saudi Arabia avoided Hormuz. The pipeline that feeds it remains halted according to most sources we read, and loadings have partly shifted back to the Gulf.178201312
With Washington holding back, London and Paris chose to protect without fighting: air-to-air refuelling for one, soldiers and radars at Yanbu for the other.
