Zhongguancun Forum 2026: China Accelerates Its Tech Offensive in AI and Humanoid Robots

From March 25 to 29, 2026, the Zhongguancun Forum is held in Beijing under the theme of integrating technological and industrial innovation. It showcases concrete advances in artificial intelligence, humanoid robotics, brain-machine interfaces and 6G, presented as evidence of a drive to shape the technologies described as those of the future.

The event is part of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), which makes technological self-sufficiency a stated priority. Several observers compare the rise of humanoid robots to the momentum already seen in electric vehicles, viewing it as a possible shift in industrial scale. The forum also functions as an image operation: at a moment marked by war in Iran and an energy crisis, it highlights a country oriented toward innovation.
