BIASES AND FRAMING IDENTIFIED

Beijing's state media outlets are quoting Meta's statement in full, without subjecting the company's defense to scrutiny from independent sources.

« For meaningful progress to happen, we urge TikTok and YouTube to join us and state attorneys general in adopting this new standard, to ensure teens use social media in a healthy and responsible way, »

The framing of the issue is numerically inconsistent: the announced amount differs from one article to another within the same agency, without explanation for the discrepancy.

« agreed to pay $18 billion and add stronger child-safety measures on its platforms »
