The suspect is believed to have had accomplices. "Two male individuals have been detained," the deputy prosecutor said, although the investigation has not established their "active participation." After the explosion, she fled through France and then Italy in a rental car. Her German home was searched on Friday.
The investigation has been assigned to three instructing judges for attempted murder. Thibault praised "effective international police and judicial cooperation," which enabled the suspect's identification in "a particularly short time" - 53 hours. The geographical proximity to France, through which the suspect transited, gives this case a direct national dimension.
