BIASES AND FRAMING IDENTIFIED

The health and institutional narrative prioritizes official case and death numbers as well as funding announcements, at the expense of the daily experiences of affected communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Low coverage of local distrust: the fire at Butembo's hospital, a symptom of tensions between the population and the response system, remains underdeveloped compared to institutional announcements from the Congolese government.

Preference for official sources: the narrative relies mainly on statements from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Congolese government, and Africa CDC, with limited input from independent field actors in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
