BIASES AND FRAMING IDENTIFIED

Institutional systems framing: British outlets emphasize the case as a test of American checks and balances, prioritizing structural critique over detailed scrutiny of the investigations themselves.

Privileged access to Newsom's narrative: the governor's statements receive greater editorial prominence than the DOJ's official position, which declined to provide immediate comment.

Limited local judicial context: California's investigative background and the role of local whistleblowers receive brief mention without in-depth examination of their origins.
