BIASES AND FRAMING IDENTIFIED

Argentina's media outlets focus on the number of victims, with the two Argentine articles emphasizing the toll without referencing each other to adjust their figures.

Argentine media provides limited coverage of the regional alert chain, unlike Chilean, Peruvian, or Ecuadorian media outlets, which link the event to a warning for their own coastlines, which are absent from the Pacific.

Argentine news sources prefer to cite institutional sources, such as the USGS, BMKG, and official spokespersons, over eyewitness accounts gathered on the ground, which are reduced to a single quote.
