The most striking detail concerns the response to the crisis: Hugging Face explained it had to resort to GLM-5.2, a Chinese open-source model developed by Zhipu AI, to analyze the attack, as major American models proved unable to distinguish the attacker from the defender and refused to process the necessary data. This choice also allowed Hugging Face to keep the compromised identifiers within its own systems.
