RMF24 reconstructs the intervention based on Reuters reports: armed police blocked access to the main entrance of the base, security equipment was installed on the access roads, and around 30 emergency vehicles - police cars, ambulances, fire trucks - converged on the town of Fairford. The evacuated residents were transferred to a local leisure center. The Gloucestershire police confirmed that a "major incident" had been triggered and that "a military team specializing in the elimination of explosive materials is currently examining several vehicles," before judging the situation "under control."
