ANALYSIS
Islamabad, October 27, 2026. The Pakistani press is covering Anthropic's filing as a market event above all. ARY News, which picked up an AFP dispatch, recalls that the company made its listing project public on Monday, October 26, revealing "soaring sales" but also political and security risks, in what constitutes a major test to see if the AI boom can produce profits.
Geo News emphasizes the historic nature of the operation. The San Francisco-based company has filed its registration statement with the SEC and is aiming for the Nasdaq under the symbol "ANT". It is seeking to raise around $100 billion, which would exceed the record of $86 billion set by SpaceX in June. The media outlet recalls that Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers including Dario and Daniela Amodei, was valued at $965 billion in its last private round in May. Revenue reached $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, but the company "continues to report substantial losses". Valuation, stock price, and fundraising target are not confirmed.
According to AFP, relayed by ARY, citing the Wall Street Journal, the listing is aiming for the week of November 16, with a range of $1,500 to $2,000 billion, subject to a change in schedule. The prospectus devotes more than 90 pages to risks, including systems capable of "catastrophic or existential risks" if they are not developed responsibly, and mentions the conflict with the Trump administration. ARY also notes that OpenAI has pushed back its IPO to next year and that a disappointing reception could cool investor enthusiasm, as AI has become a driver of American growth.
Business Recorder, reporting from Singapore and Tokyo, measures the shockwave. On Tuesday, October 27, Asian stocks rose: the South Korean KOSPI gained more than 4% at the start of the session, the Nikkei 1.9%, and the MSCI Asia-Pacific index excluding Japan 1.2%. Advantest jumped 10% and SoftBank 6.94%. Daisuke Hashizume, of Daiwa Securities, speaks of a market "relieved" by the news. Anthony Saglimbene, of Ameriprise, warns against "circular arrangements" and demands proof that demand exceeds these intertwined relationships, as the results of Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon approach, as well as the decisions of the Fed, the ECB, and the Bank of Japan.
